Once upon a time...
In December of 2005, seven frustrated and exhausted actors met at a bar called Walkers.
They were working together at a local theatre company, producing and performing regularly, seven days a week.
They were frustrated, tired, and ready to produce work that was truly their own.
A company that would put an idea first, take any situation as it came, perform in whatever spaces were given to them, make life art… and art life.
The seven became nine, and The Walker Project was born.
In July of 2006, the administrative Walkers had dwindled down to three ladies: Amie Sanborn, Erika Villalba and Jacqueline Raposo, who was a producing director with a British-American theatre company looking for a team to work on their experimental wing. They needed some highly motivated artists to take chances, to not take life too seriously, to look beyond producing and simply perform... thus two became one...The Project.
